|The Grizzly at Kings Dominion is one of my favorite roller coasters...why?|
Hmmmm...might be a blog post!!! ;-)
After last week's sadness, and total wrecking of my mind, this week has been different. I posted the Amazing Raise for ROSMY on Tuesday, and while I have no idea if anyone who reads this contributed (I THANK YOU IF YOU DID!!!), ROSMY raised $11,963 including an Early Bird prize (for the most early donations) and a Procrastinator's Prize (for most last minute donations). That's a hunk of change for an organization that only employees three, yet serves several hundred LGBTQ youth each year.
As noted on that page, I'll be selling Rainbow RVA stickers at Virginia Pride on 28th September. Everything after I recoup my cost will be a donation to ROSMY. $5 each, and I can mail a lot for $1.50, so email me (in my profile) if you'd like to get some! Local or not, everyone needs a Rainbow RVA sticker! I've got 500 of these puppies! I need to get rid of them!!!
I mentioned that work has been a roller coaster. It never ceases to amaze me how poor managers can waste employees' time with useless meetings and drivel. But it's all good. I threw the initial switch on a project that has been my baby for several weeks just before I left work this afternoon. I came in from the radio club meeting, and the iPhone wasn't a molten puddle of slag, so I guess I didn't lock everyone out of their computers! WOOT!
Second night of Electronics for Hams class went well. Randy and I are a good team. He's an Electrical Engineer (VERY theoretical with plenty of real life experience), and I'm a broadcast engineer/electronics junkie (LOTS of real life experience with enough theoretical to get by) - we work well together teaching. I can always cover the basics, he can always fill in the details. Good combination.
