So another political rant. I saw this over at Boy Box Rebellion
TBH, sometimes I wonder if we are propagating this bullshit, aren't we helping to spread the message? With all the interconnection and tracking of statistics these days (and I work in IT, I know how all this works), every time someone views this clown, on a gay or straight or bovine blog, HE counts it as support!
That being said, if we're not aware (because I'm not reading his blog or watching his YouTube channel), how do we know? It's a double edged sword.

ReplyDeleteSometimes you have to lower yourself to watch or read this kind of nonsense, partly on the basis of 'know your enemy', because our enemies Fischer and his ilk most certainly are, and partly to point and laugh, to treat these people with the contempt they so richly deserve. If theocrats ever rule the world, it will be time to leave, hastily.

I guess you're right. It's like the Westboro Baptist assholes...every time they show up, they get the publicity they crave. It just irks me that they show up on so-called legitimate news programs, when everyone, including those producers, know they are wrong, stupid, hateful, bigoted...it would be like inviting the Ku Klux Klan on your news shows to debate interracial marriage.

DeleteI don't know how you'd sue them. They don't attack a particular person, then defamation laws might apply. But as long as crap like DOMA still exists, it's hard to say it's defamation since it's the law!

First off, the information I received was that this Louis Giglio [or whatever], who was supposed to give the Inaugural benediction told 'em to go 'pound sand', because there was going to be some author reciting poetry at the ceremony. The author is (GASP) gay. So this white-haired dingleberry is lying through his tooth.
His "message" is not only illogical, self-victimizing and bigoted; it's also untruthful. To me, this desperation is a sign that OUR message is finally getting through to the vast majority; who, I believe,could care less about the gender of the person we love. To them, it's all about the 'content of our character' {to paraphrase Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.}.
